Steve Cox was born in Oceanside, California in 1988. Growing up as a Southern California beach kid, he spent his early years doing what most kids did—surfing, skating, and enjoying the sun. But Steve had a different kind of obsession: motors.
If it had an engine, he wanted to know how it worked. He spent his teenage years tearing apart dirt bikes, rebuilding old truck engines in driveways, and figuring out how to make things run faster and cleaner. That childhood curiosity quickly turned into a lifelong career.
A Better Way to Fix Cars
Steve has been doing mechanic work for basically his entire adult life. He spent years working in the traditional auto repair industry, and he saw firsthand how broken the system was.
He watched customers get overcharged by dealerships to cover massive overhead costs. He saw people forced to take days off work, arrange rides, or pay for expensive tow trucks just to get their car looked at. He knew there had to be a better way to treat people.
In 2007, Steve started FBK Auto Repair as a fully mobile service based in Fallbrook. His business model was radically simple: eliminate the shop, eliminate the service advisors, and bring the expertise directly to the customer.

Today, Steve serves hundreds of regular customers across North San Diego County and Southern Riverside County. From routine brake jobs in residential driveways to maintaining commercial fleets at local business yards, he brings his tools, his parts, and his 20+ years of experience wherever they are needed.
